Images from the History of Medicine (IHM) is the National Library of Medicine's database of approximately 64,000 historical images. The collection includes portraits, pictures of institutions, caricatures, genre scenes, fine prints, ephemera and graphic art in a variety of media, illustrating the social and historical aspects of medicine. IHM covers a large range of medically related topics past and present, from medieval astrology to nineteenth century slum conditions, from the international fight against drug abuse to AIDS. It does NOT contain modern clinical images.
