You are permitted only to add/remove funding to/from an NIHMS record prior to completion of the Initial Approval step (see the NIHMS Overview for information on the NIHMS process). Link only funding that directly supported the manuscript being submitted. Please contact the NIHMS Help Desk to edit funding associations for submissions beyond the Initial Approval stage.
If you are a principal investigator on an associated award but you are not acting as the Reviewer for the submission, you will be notified that the association has been made and will have the option to request the award be removed if it did not directly support the paper. Funding associations are also subject to staff review.
